What Is Polyester DTY Yarn?

Polyester dty yarn is a continuous filament yarn that has been processed to introduce durable crimps twists, interlaces, loops or other fine distortions along the lengths of the filament. The result is a textured yarn with a fluffed shape, soft feel and greater bulkiness, which increases the durability of fabrics made from this material.
Polyester DTY is a high-tenacity synthetic fiber with good breaking strength and excellent resistance to stress. It can be used for a wide range of applications in apparel, sportswear, and home textiles. It is also suitable for a number of industrial uses such as ropes, nets, and strapping materials.
Breaking strength refers to the tensile force that the fiber can resist when subjected to constant loading until it breaks. It is expressed in units of centiNewton/dtex (cN/dtex). The higher the breaking strength of a polyester DTY, the more it is resistant to stress.
DTY fibers are selected with a lower elongation at break in the processing process, which makes the yarn easier to dye and maintain its crimp characteristics. In addition, a lower elongation at break can improve the flexibility of the thread.
The crimping characteristics of the yarns are characterized by different crimp elongation and crimp retraction values under a variety of conditions. They are useful indicators of the quality of textured yarns and are an important factor in fabric performance.
Texturing enables yarns to produce permanent distortions and crimps without destroying the essential continuity of the filaments, which can provide a soft feel and increase the warmth and comfort of the fabric. It can also make the fabric more durable, and improve the performance of textile processing equipment.
It is commonly used in knitted and woven fabrics, including women's undergarments, hosiery, and garment covers. It is also used in a number of home furnishing and fashion fabrics, such as draperies, curtains, blankets, and terry towels.
DTY is available in three lusters: Semi-Dull, Full-Dull and Bright. The luster of Semi-Dull POY is generally used in cotton, wool, and silk fabrics, while the luster of Bright POY is usually used in cotton, linen, and viscose fabrics.
This type of polyester DTY is manufactured by texturing partially oriented yarns using texturising machines. It can be produced in several lusters, such as Semi-Dull, Bright, and Triloble Bright.
In addition to the texturing processes, the twisted yarns can be heat-set in a twisted condition, which can provide a smoother texture and improve the strength and stiffness of the fabric. This method is a highly efficient process that can reduce the production costs of high-performance fabrics.
The twisted yarn can be made in a range of deniers and cut lengths. The most popular is the standard denier which is a cut-length of about 1 cm, while the extra long deniers are available as well.
The twisted polyester DTY yarn can be colored with various colors by the dope dyeing technology or through conventional dyeing. The color master-batch is mixed with the raw material before dyeing to ensure that all parts of the twisted yarn are evenly colored.
