Dope Dyed Bright POY Yarn

The term “Dope Dyed” refers to the fact that the yarn is colored during the manufacturing process, instead of afterward. Polyester Partially Oriented Yarn, or simply Polyester POY, is the first form of yarn made directly from PTA & MEG or by spinning Polyester PET Chips. This is then twisted with texturizing to make textured yarns such as Polyester Drawn Textured Yarn (DTY).

This is then colored by Dope Dye technology which is more efficient & the yarn gets evenly colored at each & every portion. The POY can be made in different luster like Semi Dull or Bright based on the cross-sections of the filaments.

This can be done in various ways such as by virtual twisting, sizing or by using friction disk. These are then made into textured yarns which can be used in weaving or knitting of fabric for clothes, home-textiles & upholstery etc.

Dope Dyed – PD Bright POY is produced in a lot of factories worldwide from India,China,Taiwan,Indonesia & Malaysia. It is usually packed on paper bobbins, where as the Raw White DTY which will be dyed is loosely packed on perforated plastic tube so that it can easily be dyed in the desired color. This can be done in both Dope Dyed & Conventional process.
